About the Site

TheJayhawker.net is a sports blog dedicated to the most storied college basketball program of all-time: The University of Kansas Jayhawks. It was created in the summer of 2009 and launched on December 1st, 2009. The Jayhawker is intended to be a resource for avid KU fans around the world, providing a one-stop-shop for everything KU basketball related. The Jayhawker will provide fans with unique perspectives and insights, daily news pieces, game previews and recaps, as well as special features and columns. Additionally, KU fans no longer living in Lawrence will be able to communicate with their city's alumni via The Jayhawker's Forum, or simply find out where the nearest KU watch-site is through the Alumni Chapters section.

About the Administrator

My name is Jon Brubaker and I graduated from the University of Kansas in 2005. Upon graduation I moved back home to New Jersey with a degree in History, a broken TV, and an undying passion for Kansas basketball. I immediately found the KU watch-sites in the area, and was amazed at not only the amount of KU Alumni living in New York City, but also their sustained passion for the Jayhawks. It soon became clear that I was not alone, in New York, or any city around this country.

Attending the games in a Lawrence-esque atmosphere was great during the games, but it only went so far to quench my thirst for all-things KU basketball. I would find myself boring random friends and co-workers about the promise of a freshman guard from Alaska, how losing a legendary coach was a blessing in disguise, or why even as a 4th seed KU should be considered a favorite to reach the Final Four. Needless to say, I was lucky to find anyone who would truly listen, or even knew the difference between Kansas and Kentucky. But the few that did listen quickly realized my love of KU basketball was strong, and needed an outlet. And so TheJayhawker.net was born, providing me with an outlet for my passion, and hopefully a way to help quench the thirst of fellow Jayhawks around the country.
